The Acne Diaries

So...I have been struggling with acne since I have been in elementary school. I've been through the whole proactive and every other drug out there routine. On the front of every product they always say there is no cure for acne. Lol I think that is funny because they are basically saying that we are just covering up the problem. The one time that I noticed my acne leaving is when I went on the Paleo Diet. It's a diet where you just eat all natural and organic foods, and you eliminate oats, bread, legumes, and dairy. I didn't stick with the diet, but I became fearful of the dairy, oats, and grains. I also stopped waiting my money on buying acne products. I just wash my face with like a baking soda paste(baking soda and water). I don't break out as much, it brightens my face, and it is only 99cents. I  even watch what I wash my hair with because if it's not pure, than the chemicals are just going to mess with my acne. Trader Joes Nourish Spa Shampoo and Conditioner  is only 6 bucks together. I got sick one week, and I stopped using the baking soda, and my pimples took over my face. Lol Once I started back using it, my face cleared up. So that proves that it is really working.

Mocha Love

Mocha is like the most popular drink in the world (to me at least). My 6-year-old even knows what a Mocha Frappes is. LOL. Well I'm always searching for a health alternative, and I'm going to try this very soon. I found it at Tonetiki. I'm also putting in on my Favorite Recipe page.

Dollar Tree is Amazing!

So...The hubby and I went to the dollar store to get some cleaning stuff for the house. Since my kid is on break, I wanted teach him how to tell time and some other things. Well..they have these educational posters with like the seasons and all kinds of basic things for kids to learn. Since I will be a teacher one day, I'm always fascinated with the teacher supply section in any store that has one. So as I was looking through the posters, and I found one with a giant clock on it. The poster has all of this information on it, explaining how to tell time. This makes it so easy for a kid to learn about time! It also came with another poster that was about counting money. Only one dollar! I never realized how much educational stuff was in the dollar store. When I was a kid, I only paid attention to the toy isle. LOL

Housebound for the day!

So...my 6 year old, Key and I have to stay in the house because he had minor surgery Friday. Everything went well, thank God! It was circumcision, and an embilical chord hernia. I know what people are saying, "Why would you wait that long?" Well my family was sort of afraid of circumcision because my oldest brother had a bad circumsision that turned for the worst. Thank God he is fine now. But my husband was like, "We have to get it done." LOL So, it is done! Eveything is fine, but I just hate to see my baby in any type of pain. :(  The University of Chicago Children's Hospital was so great. They even gave give a doll that had hopsital rhobe on that he took into surgery with him. It was really sweet, and I know it meant a lot to my son because he doesnt normally snuggle with his toys. Also, Key had a loose tooth, and it came out during surgery. LOL They gave him a dollar. I thought that was so sweet!

Passed the Basic Skills Test!

So...I am going to school to be a Music Teacher. I am just about finish with school, but I have been struggling with this Illinois Basic Skills Test. It is now called the TAP test. Well it only consist of basic skills, but these are skills that you have not used since early high school. I just passed it Friday, and I am so happy! You only have five times to take the test, and it is five hours long. If you never pass the test, you cannot teach in the state of Illinois. So, this is a serious test. I even have friends that have decided not to teach all because of this test. There are also students who are protesting the test, and there were even some strikes. I studied so hard! When I got to the testing site they told me I couldn't take the test because my registration information didn't match my identification. Then they said I couldn't reschedule or get my money back! I just started crying because I was just so sick of this test. Someone finally told me that I could come come back at a latter time , with my marriage licence to prove identification. I had to call off work, but it was worth it.  I just thank God that I finally passed it!
